ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Three Ithaca Police officers have been cleared in a fraud investigation.

In December, members of Ithaca’s Common Council received an anonymous email accusing several within IPD of committing overtime fraud. Despite the authenticity of the email, an investigation led by the New York State Police was conducted.  All three officers were cleared of any wrongdoing.

The Ithaca PBA is now calling on Tompkins County District Attorney Matt Van Houten to continue the investigation to identify the source of the complaint.

In a related story, John Joly announced Monday he was taking an indefinite leave of absence from his position at IPD.
