Cortland County SPCA, Cortlandville FD team up for duckling rescue


CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WHCU) – A duckling is alive and well thanks to authorities in Cortlandville.

On Friday morning, the Cortlandville Fire Department responded to the intersection of McLean Road and Deerfield Heights to assist the Cortland County SPCA with an animal rescue.  A duckling had become trapped in the storm drain and could not escape. The group was able to recover the duckling safely. It was turned over to a wildlife rehabilitation expert.
