ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Nineteen members of New York’s congressional delegation have sent a letter to President Barack Obama opposing a major trade pact with 11 other nations.

The bipartisan group of lawmakers says in a letter Wednesday that they believe the Trans-Pacific Partnership as currently negotiated would harm working and middle-class families in New York. The group said that past trade agreements have already cost the state manufacturing jobs.

They also oppose the lack of measures in the pact to address currency manipulation.

The Republicans signing the letter are Chris Collins, Chris Gibson, John Katko, Tom Reed, Lee Zeldin and Dan Donovan. The Democrats are Louise Slaughter, Yvette Clarke, Eliot Engel, Brian Higgins, Hakeem Jeffries, Nita Lowey, Carolyn Maloney, Sean Patrick Maloney, Grace Meng, Jerrold Nadler, Jose Serrano, Paul Tonko and Nydia Velázquez.
